Competitions

Star Diving Club attend many competitions around the country each year. We currently have squad divers competing at inter-club, county, regional and national competitions, including the National Skills Finals, National Age Group Championships and the Talent Games.

Where possible we like to take divers away as a team, which involves the divers travelling and staying together under chaperone and coach supervision. Divers are encouraged to support one another throughout the meet, helping to build team spirit.

Our chaperones are volunteers, having been DBS checked initially and attended a Safeguarding Training course. Once you have these under your belt, you can move on to a Team Manager course (module one then two). We rely on parents to step forward to chaperone at 'away' competitions - and the club will fund all pertinent courses.

If you are willing to volunteer as a chaperone at a future competition, please email our club administrator Louise - louise@stardiving.org . She can put you in touch with our welfare officer to arrange a DBS check and also book you onto a safeguarding course.

Competition selections are made by the head coach, and not everyone in the target squads will attend every competition. Divers invited to events will receive a selection notification email from Fran, our competition secretary.
